Apple Skies Quilt Pattern

Learn to use the Half Square 4-in1 Triangle Ruler as you make the quilt.

This pattern is presented in a tutorial style fashion, geared towards those Confident Beginner quilters. The pattern contains 14 pages of detailed photos, diagrams and written descriptions of how to piece together each of the units needed to make the Apple Skies quilt.

Fabric Requirements:

Yardage amounts are calculated using 40” width of fabric. Finished quilt measures approximately 62" x 80"

How to pick fabric for this quilt:

Pick the main color for your quilt. Pick a dark (Fabric 1) and a medium/light (Fabric 2) of that same color - you want these two fabrics to be different enough that they do not blend together.

For Fabric 4, pick a complimentary or analogous color. Example: if you pick green, a complimentary color would be red, or an analogous color would be a lime green or a teal/blue.

For Fabric 3, pick a neutral or blender that will allow the other 3 fabrics to stand out - you do not want an overpowering print on this fabric.

Large print in any of your fabrics will take away from the overall design.

Fabric 1 (7/8 yard): Dark

Fabric 2 (2/3 yard): Medium/Light

Fabric 3 (1 - 3/4 yards): Background

Fabric 4 (7/8 yard): Contrasting or Analogous to Fabrics 1 and 2

Other Recommended Fabrics:

Border 1 (10 - 1/2 inches): Fabric 4

Border 2 (1 yard): Fabric 1

Binding (20 inches): Fabric 4
